I can’t even count on one hand how many times I have watched this movie. It’s became my favourite movie ever since I saw it first time. And I keep watching it, quite often, maybe regularly. I am talking about The Devil Wears Prada.
Oh God I have only noticed the movie is 10 years old already! The Devil Wears Prada is a 2006 comedy-drama film based on Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel. The main character Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) is a college graduate who goes to New York City and gets a job as a co-assistant to fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep. However the movie is set in the fashion world, most designers avoided appearing as themselves for fear of displeasing U.S. Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who believed to have been the inspiration for Priestly. Still, many allowed their clothes and accessories to be used in the film, making it the most expensively costumed film in history.
Why is it
my favourite movie? Because for few years long I really wanted to work for
fashion magazine, actually I think it is because of the movie I really wanted
to. The film was my inspiration to start doing something about it. My desire to
work for a fashion magazine is not as big as it was before however the film
still stays as number one on my list.
What I
love about it is the way they showed how Andrea’s style has been changed. We
can follow her from being literally non-fashion girl and suddenly becoming, in
my opinion, the best-dressed character in a movie. I really like the garments
has been used during it, costumes are equivalent for each scene.
Obviously
making part of the movie in Paris makes it my favourite too. Showing actual Fashion Week, the behind the
scene is very interesting, the models.Everything
works perfect together, music really suits to each scene and it’s really catchy,
like after watching the movie I still sing some of the songs for few days.
This is my
fashion movie list, in my opinion a must-watch for fashion lovers:

the city!

-Prêt-à-Porter
